Majid Abdullah Matbouly

Head of Industrial Valley at Emaar, The Economic City

Majid is the head of Industrial Valley at King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC). He has more than 18 years of Industrial, Business Development, Real-Estate, Healthcare, consultancy services and regulations development experience gained from reputable International and Local companies such as EEC.

KAEC Industrial Valley focuses on logistics and light industry and, in line with Vision 2030, has been identified as a significant contributor to the growth of KSA’s industrial and logistics sectors. In his current capacity at KAEC, Majid leads a 55 km2, state-of-the-art, Industrial and value-added Logistics hub that creates jobs and contributes to Saudi Arabia’s economic development. Since its inception, the Industrial Valley has succeeded in attracting more than 120 leading companies and investors in the pharmaceutical, food, logistics, automotive, construction and packaging sectors. Examples of companies that have started production and development in the Industrial Valley include Pfizer, Mars, IKEA, Binzagr, Total, Lucid Motors and many more.

Prior to joining KAEC, Majid served Vision 2030 in different leadership roles. He was the Chief Strategy Officer for Makkah Healthcare Cluster, where he led the strategy and transformation teams to advance the transition towards the vision set for the Healthcare Sector. Also, as Associate Partner at Elixir Management Consultancy, Majid served various ministries, Vision Realization Programs and Vision Realization Offices. Furthermore, Majid led a large transformation initiative that aimed to enhance performance through culture change, by influencing leaders to drive positive change.

Additionally, Majid worked in leading companies across different industries. He was the KSA Managing Director for a technology platform company. He was also the KSA Country Manager for Royal HaskoningDHV, a Dutch Engineering Consultancy firm, where he led the growth of various planning and design functions by linking the company’s global vision and local ambition.

Majid also led the Maintenance arm for Samsung’s local partner in KSA, where he orchestrated all operations activities across the country. Finally, Majid worked as a field Engineer for Schlumberger – a leading oil & gas service company – in the United States, as well as Ericsson – a leading telecommunication solutions provider – in Saudi Arabia.
