Eng. Hassan Salim Shashaa is Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer at Emirates Steel and Arkan. He oversees the functions of Strategy, Innovation and Excellence, Transformation Office, Business Continuity, Merger and Acquisition functions, beside his role with the Executive Committee.

Shashaa brings to his role a wealth of experience spanning 40 years in the heavy industry sector and holds proven expertise in leading all production related functions, building teams to achieve set targets and ensure sustainability with a keen commercial sense.

Over the last 13 years, Shashaa completed tenures at Emirates Steel as Chief Operating Officer where he led operation and maintenance functions. He also held the positions of Senior Vice President of Strategy & Development, Sales and Marketing as well as Advisor to the CEO.

Prior to joining Emirates Steel, he worked for 21 years with Bahrain-based Gulf Industrial Investment Company as Production Manager and later as General Manager, Sales and Marketing. He started his career as Project Engineer at Jordan Fertilizer Industry (Jordan Phosphate Mines Company) where he served for six years.

Eng. Hassan Salim Shashaa holds a Master’s in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wales in the UK, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the American University of Beirut.
